At the forum, Professor Kang Daejung (Department of Education, Seoul National University) delivered the keynote speech on "Coexistence between Local Universities and Local Governments for Vitalizing Regional Lifelong Learning," emphasizing that regional junior colleges should transform into lifelong vocational education institutions and collaborate with local governments.
The discussion was moderated by Hwang Hwantak, Director of the Chungnam Lifelong Education Talent Development Institute. Professor Son Inhwan (Department of Electrical Engineering, Shinsung University, Director of Planning) presented the role of regional universities, including opening courses accessible to all citizens including adult learners, and strengthening cooperation with the local community and businesses.

Additionally, Kim Sunho, Dangjin City Council member, suggested that local governments should provide administrative and financial support for the development of local universities, while local universities should establish region-specific departments and pursue customized educational innovation based on a demand-oriented approach.
Cha Sujin, Team Leader of the City Education Special Zone TF, stated, "As we are in an era where overcoming the crisis of universities and the survival of the region must go hand in hand, I believe that a closer cooperative relationship and a broader understanding of lifelong education are necessary."
