Ace Bed Donates 100 Million KRW to Establish Korea's First Lou Gehrig Care Hospital
Ace Bed is contributing to the construction of a specialized nursing hospital for patients with Lou Gehrig's disease and continuing its ongoing social contribution activities.
On the 26th, Ace Bed announced that it had donated 100 million KRW to the Seungil Hope Foundation for the construction fund of the Lou Gehrig nursing hospital. The donation ceremony held the day before was attended by Seunil Hope Foundation co-representative Sean and Ace Bed executives and other related personnel.
The Seungil Hope Foundation is a non-profit foundation established in 2011 by the late Park Seung-il and co-representative Sean to build the nation's first Lou Gehrig nursing hospital. Through continuous campaigns and fundraising activities, it has secured a 3,292㎡ (approximately 1,000 pyeong) site in Mohyeon-eup, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, and plans to open a specialized nursing hospital with 76 beds, clinics, physical (occupational) therapy rooms, and a bathhouse, consisting of two basement floors and four above-ground floors, in early next year.
Ace Bed joined the fundraising campaign for the Lou Gehrig nursing hospital through the support of its exclusive brand model Park Bo-gum. In July last year, Park Bo-gum posted a message on social media (SNS) urging attention to patients with Lou Gehrig's disease through the Ice Bucket Challenge. Ace Bed CEO An Seong-ho donated 100 million KRW to the Seungil Hope Foundation to support Park Bo-gum’s goodwill, with whom the brand has had a long relationship, for the construction of the nursing hospital.
This donation is based on the management philosophy of "returning corporate profits to society." Ace Bed has annually donated rice to support elderly people living alone and single-parent families, and operates the Ace Senior Center, which provides free lunches and leisure spaces for local seniors, among other social contribution activities.
