Hadonghun and Kim Minjeon Argue During Meeting... Ongoing Discord Within the Ruling Party
Kim Minjeon "Please also sue those who tell me to resign"
Han Donghoon "It would be better to verify facts before making statements"
Heated voices heard during closed meeting... Disputes among attendees
The internal conflict within the People Power Party, sparked by controversy over the party members' bulletin board, continues. On the 25th, during the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly, a verbal dispute occurred between Han Dong-hoon, the party leader of the People Power Party, and Kim Min-jeon, a Supreme Council member.
During the opening remarks of the meeting, Council Member Kim said, "There was a report that the party is planning to file complaints against those who write posts calling for Leader Han's resignation." He added, "I don't know if that's true or not. If they are going to file complaints, I have received countless resignation messages as well, and I can provide those numbers, so please file complaints against them too." In response, Leader Han said, "It would be better to verify the facts before making such statements," and laughed incredulously, saying, "No one is preparing such complaints. I don't know what that means."
What Council Member Kim referred to appears to be reports by some media outlets that the People Power Party is considering filing complaints regarding threatening posts on the party members' bulletin board, such as demands for the party leader's resignation or exposing additional allegations against Leader Han.
After the altercation between Leader Han and Council Member Kim, Seo Beom-su, the Secretary-General affiliated with the pro-Han Dong-hoon faction, stepped in to clarify. Secretary-General Seo said, "I will briefly comment on what Council Member Kim said. This is the first time I have heard that complaints are being filed just because someone resigns," emphasizing, "I don't know how that information came out, but this is the first time I have heard of it." Floor Leader Chu Kyung-ho also urged calm, saying, "Please do that during the closed meeting."
It was confirmed that during the closed meeting held after the public session, there was a verbal dispute among attendees who were not Supreme Council members. Council Member Kim tried to find the article he mentioned but was unable to locate it, and the matter was not further discussed.
After the closed meeting, Leader Han told reporters, "Have you ever seen such an article? (Council Member Kim) did not verify it beforehand," emphasizing, "There is no way I would file complaints just because someone criticized me. He said he couldn't find it himself."
