Korean Kansuh Indoor Smart Farm Technology Showcased... Export MOU Achievements Discovered Between Companies
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 25th that, together with the Korea Smart Farm Industry Association, it established and operated a Korean Pavilion composed of six domestic smart farm companies for the first time at the 'Asia Food and Agriculture Technology Expo (AFTEA)' held in Singapore for three days starting from the 19th.
An official from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs stated, "To support the pioneering of new markets for K-Smart Farm, the Ministry, together with the Korea Smart Farm Industry Association, created the Korean Pavilion at AFTEA for the first time. Despite this being the first time establishing a Korean Pavilion at AFTEA, there was strong interest in Korean companies, resulting in export business agreements (MOUs) between companies and achieving the intended outcomes."
Now in its third year, AFTEA is an event where government and corporate representatives related to smart farms and food tech gather in one place to share knowledge and experiences to strengthen food security in the Asian region.
At this year's AFTEA Korean Pavilion, buyers from 57 countries visited and conducted a total of 220 export consultations. Korean smart farm company Gyorin signed an MOU with local food distribution company DIMUTO for the export of indoor smart farm materials. The technology of Plantifarm, which operates vertical farms in idle spaces of the Seoul subway, also attracted significant attention from buyers. A representative from the Smart Farm Industry Association said, "Singapore is a city-state with less than 1% of its total land area available for cultivation, and we confirmed that there is high potential for future market entry focusing on technologies capable of producing crops indoors, such as vertical farms."
