Approval for Park Golf Course Use at Jungnangcheon Riverside... Jungnang-gu Transforms Jungnangcheon into a Multifunctional Healing Space
Reborn as an Urban Oasis to Enjoy Sports and Culture Alongside Beautiful Nature
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) has received river occupancy permit approval from the Hangang River Basin Environmental Office for the park golf course (Jungnang-gu Park Golf Course) created on the banks of Jungnangcheon Stream.
With this approval, the district can now present Jungnangcheon as a completed complex healing space to its residents.
The district has built a total of 32 community sports facilities along Jungnangcheon to support residents' health and leisure activities, including a park golf course, water park, barefoot walking trail, tennis courts, futsal fields, and gateball courts.
Additionally, beautiful scenic facilities such as Rose Park, an observatory, and the Rose Clock Tower were created to provide residents with diverse attractions.
In particular, efforts were made to restore the natural beauty of the river and improve the ecological environment. Eco-friendly measures were implemented, such as natural bank maintenance to prevent erosion and removal of overflow weirs that block rainwater, making Jungnangcheon and Mukdongcheon more accessible river spaces for residents.
Moreover, various cultural events have been held centered around Jungnangcheon, establishing it as a resident-friendly space. For example, an autumn classical music concert was held at Junghwa Sports Park, and a food night market festival took place at the Rose Jeil Market in front of Jungnangcheon, offering residents enjoyment through diverse programs including the Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival.
Thanks to the district's continuous efforts, Jungnangcheon has been reborn as a special space where nature, leisure, and culture can be enjoyed simultaneously. Residents can now enjoy leisurely walks, various sports activities, and rich cultural experiences here.
