Samsung Asset, KODEX US Dividend Dow Jones Individual Net Purchases Surpass 100 Billion Won
Samsung Asset Management announced on the 22nd that the monthly dividend type "KODEX US Dividend Dow Jones," known as the "Korean version of SCHD," surpassed 100 billion KRW in net purchases by individual investors just over 100 days after its listing. It is analyzed that the product attracted investors' attention due to its feature of paying dividends on the 15th of every month and its advantage of allowing investment at the lowest domestic fee of 0.0099% per annum.
KODEX US Dividend Dow Jones is the Korean version of the well-known SCHD ETF (Schwab US Dividend Equity ETF) for domestic investors, and among similar domestic products, it is the most affordable with the lowest domestic fee of 0.0099% per annum. It invests only in the top 100 stocks selected based on criteria such as free cash flow, return on equity (ROE), dividend yield, and 5-year dividend growth rate, targeting U.S. stocks that have consistently paid dividends for 10 years. It has long been recognized as a symbol of dividend growth investing by verifying performance over an extended period.
The sector's maximum weight is limited to 25%, and the maximum weight of a single stock is also capped at 4%, resulting in a balanced portfolio. This contrasts with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 indices, where the technology sector accounts for more than half. For investors focused on tech stocks, it can serve as a good complement to help overcome volatile market conditions.
It is distinguished as a monthly dividend product that pays dividends based on the 15th of each month. When combined with end-of-month dividend products among existing similar products for diversified investment, it is possible to build an income portfolio that receives dividends every two weeks, and it offers the lowest cost compared to paid products.
KODEX US Dividend Dow Jones currently expects a dividend yield of about 3.8% per annum, and given that the index's dividends have increased every year over the past 10 years, it is a product that allows for dividend growth with long-term investment.
Han Dong-hoon, a manager at Samsung Asset Management, said, "Recently, monthly dividend ETF investors are trying to build a monthly dividend system that provides more dividends more frequently," adding, "By using existing end-of-month dividend ETFs together, investors can receive dividends every other week each month, which can also be used as a countermeasure for various expenses."
