From the 30th, Goyang and Gwacheon will also use the Climate Companion Card
"Full-scale Expansion into the 수도권 Region"
From the 30th, the Climate Companion Card, Seoul's unlimited public transportation pass, will also be available for use in Goyang City and Gwacheon City.
Seoul City announced on the 21st that it had signed a business agreement with the respective local governments for participation in the Climate Companion Card in February to March this year and had been conducting follow-up discussions. The related organizations have completed system development and inspections to enable the use of the Climate Companion Card on subway sections in Goyang and Gwacheon.
With the participation of Goyang City, which has a population of one million, and Gwacheon City, which connects Seoul and southern Gyeonggi Province, it is expected that the Climate Companion Card will be actively expanded throughout the metropolitan area.
The service expansion covers three lines in Goyang City (26 stations) including Line 3, Gyeongui-Jungang Line, and Seohae Line, and the Gwacheon City section of Line 4 (5 stations). As a result, on Line 3, the Climate Companion Card can be used at all stations from Daehwa Station in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang City to Ogeum Station in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
On the Gyeongui-Jungang Line, the card can be used from Tanhyeon Station in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang City to Guri Station in Guri City; on the Seohae Line, from Ilsan Station in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang City to Gimpo Airport Station in Gangseo-gu, Seoul; and on Line 4, from Jinjeop Station in Namyangju City to Government Complex Gwacheon Station in Gwacheon City.
Twenty-eight Seoul city bus routes passing through Goyang City and six routes passing through Gwacheon City are already included in the Climate Companion Card service area, so it is expected that the convenience of about 170,000 commuters and students traveling between Seoul, Goyang, and Gwacheon will improve.
