Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) held the "November Neighborhood Leaders Policy Communication Tea Time" on the 20th under the theme "Moving Uijeongbu, All-round Citizen Checking."

View original imageThe tea time, held in the city hall's medium conference room, was attended by 25 people including the mayor, vice mayor, neighborhood leaders, and heads of related departments.
The policies proposed by 15 neighborhoods were discussed under the sub-themes ▲Uijeongbu where people want to enjoy and stay together ▲Uijeongbu that prioritizes vulnerable groups ▲Uijeongbu with a walkable urban environment ▲Uijeongbu focused on on-site citizen safety.
Specifically, to create a Uijeongbu where people want to enjoy and stay together, Howon 1-dong proposed three policies including "Proposal to create a walkable street at Darakwon, the gateway to Uijeongbu." To prioritize vulnerable groups, Uijeongbu 2-dong proposed three policies including "Safety support measures for elderly recycling collectors." To create a walkable urban environment, Howon 2-dong proposed three policies including "Improvement of urban aesthetics around Sinheung-ro 119beon-gil." To focus on on-site citizen safety, Uijeongbu 1-dong proposed six policies including "Installation of anti-slip facilities in snow removal vulnerable areas."
In particular, there were many on-site centered proposals related to preemptive response systems for winter natural disasters, snow removal, and pedestrian safety, reflecting the neighborhood leaders' meticulous consideration for citizens' safety.
Lastly, in the order of discussing recent hot topics (issues) and reviews, attendees watched a video titled "Black and White Festa, 2024 Uijeongbu Autumn Festival," which was produced with reference to Netflix's "The Chef Show."
Through this, they reviewed evaluations of five representative festivals held last month: Jangam Buckwheat Flower Village Festival, Dong-o Masil Run & Dong-o Masil Festa, Black Music Festival, Howon Autumn Light Festival, and Budae Jjigae Festival, aiming to lay the groundwork for the growth of next year’s festivals.
