Namyangju City Launches Petiquette Campaign with Honorary Animal Protection Officers
Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 18th that it is stepping up Petiquette promotion efforts together with the Namyangju City Honorary Animal Protection Officers to create a city where people and animals are happy.

View original imageThe Honorary Animal Protection Officers cooperate with the city to perform various roles such as △ education, counseling, and promotion related to animal protection and animal welfare △ reporting animal abuse acts and providing information △ rescuing and supporting abused animals △ assisting public officials in their duties.
Currently, a total of six Honorary Animal Protection Officers are active in Namyangju City. Especially from September, when outdoor activities increase, they conduct Petiquette compliance promotion activities focusing on areas with frequent complaints such as parks and walking trails, together with the responsible public officials. These activities include promoting dog leash use, waste collection, animal registration, and attaching identification tags.

A Namyangju City official said, “We thank the Honorary Animal Protection Officers who have shown interest in animal welfare and actively participated in Petiquette promotion activities,” and added, “We will continue the Petiquette promotion campaign to establish a proper companion animal culture where both pet owners and non-pet owners can coexist.”
