Medium-sized business sector demands 'rational improvement of working hours' from CEO Han Dong-hoon
Meeting with Small Business Owners Invited by the People Power Party Leader
45 Policy Tasks Delivered for Livelihood Recovery
The small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector has called on the People Power Party to introduce an SME Win-Win Finance Index and to reasonably improve working hours according to the circumstances of companies.
The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on the 18th that it held a "Meeting with SME Entrepreneurs Invited by Han Dong-hoon, Leader of the People Power Party" at the KBIZ Hall of the Federation of SMEs in Yeouido, Seoul.
At the meeting, the People Power Party was represented by Leader Han and Policy Committee Chairman Kim Sang-hoon. From the SME sector, about 100 people attended, including Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs; Yoon Hak-soo, Chairman of the Korea Specialty Contractors Association; Lee Jeong-han, Chairwoman of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association; Song Chi-young, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise Associations; Choi Bong-gyu, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs Convergence; Kim Deok-jae, Chairperson of the Korea IT Women Entrepreneurs Association; Jeong Gwang-cheon, Chairman of the Inno-Biz Association; and Bae Jo-ung, Chairman of the Korea Ready-Mixed Concrete Industry Cooperative Federation.
Through the meeting, Chairman Kim Ki-moon delivered 45 "Policy Tasks for SMEs to Bridge Gaps and Restore Livelihoods" to Leader Han.
Following this, heads of SME organizations presented on-site proposals. First, to bridge corporate gaps, voices were raised for revitalizing cooperative joint projects and introducing consultation request rights, introducing an SME Win-Win Finance Index, and expanding the scope of the delivery payment linkage system to include major expenses. To alleviate labor disparities, proposals included reasonable improvements to working hours tailored to company circumstances, supplementation of the Serious Accident Punishment Act, expansion of substitute workforce support for work-family balance, and improvement of employment methods for foreign workers.
Additionally, to restore livelihoods, urgent requests were made to foster the Femtech industry and to restore the SME research and development (R&D) budget.

Chairman Kim Ki-moon said, "Among the six major gaps emphasized by Leader Han, the 8.04 million SMEs and micro-enterprises most desire the resolution of corporate and labor gaps," adding, "I hope that the ruling and opposition parties will refrain from political strife over economic issues and find a way for companies and workers to coexist and prosper together."
