Pocheon-si Selected as 'Best Institution' Nationwide for Public Sewerage Operation and Management

Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 14th that it was selected as the best institution in the Ministry of Environment's '2024 Public Sewer Operation and Management Performance Evaluation.'

View original imageThe Public Sewer Operation and Management Performance Evaluation has been conducted annually by the Ministry of Environment since 2001 to improve the operational efficiency of public sewers and establish a competitive sewer system. It is carried out by dividing 160 local governments nationwide into four groups according to population size.
Pocheon City was selected as the best institution after the first evaluation by the Regional Environmental Office and the review by the deliberation committee on 40 items including △sewer safety management response capability △treatment plant and pipeline maintenance or management △sewage sludge resource recovery rate △carbon neutrality practices.
The award ceremony will be held at the '2024 Sewer Workshop' in Yeosu on the 28th, and the city plans to present excellent cases of Pocheon City's public sewer operation and management along with the award.
