iM Asset Management's All-Weather Strategy Fund 'Didim Dundeun EMP' Surpasses 10 Billion KRW
iM Asset Management, in collaboration with Uprise Investment Advisory, launched the ‘iM Asset Didim Dundeun EMP Securities Investment Trust (Mixed - Fund of Funds)’ on February 14, 2022. The fund has demonstrated stable performance and has established itself as a notable product within retirement pension accounts. Two years after its launch, the fund’s assets under management have surpassed 10 billion KRW, providing a stable investment alternative for long-term retirement pension investors.
The fund adopts the All Weather strategy, designed to deliver consistent performance even in highly volatile market environments. Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, experienced unexpected market fluctuations in 1982, which made him realize the difficulty of predicting the economy. Based on this experience, he developed the All Weather strategy centered on two economic variables, ‘inflation’ and ‘growth,’ allowing flexible responses to four economic phases (growth, recession, inflation, deflation). This strategy completes a portfolio structure that seeks stable returns regardless of market volatility.
The core of the All Weather strategy is a Risk Parity approach that adjusts asset allocation by utilizing the volatility of each asset class. It reduces dependence on specific assets and naturally adapts to economic changes. Investors can expect stable returns even in unpredictable markets.
Uprise Investment Advisory successfully passed the robo-advisor qualification testbed led by the Financial Services Commission and KOSCOM in 2019, implementing the All Weather portfolio through robo-advisor technology. In cooperation with iM Asset Management, they are managing the Didim Dundeun EMP fund stably. The robo-advisor system automatically adjusts allocations in real time by reflecting asset volatility. It provides clients with a relatively stable investment experience that does not rely on predictions even in volatile market conditions.
As of the 12th, the iM Asset Didim Dundeun EMP fund has recorded a 1-year return of 17.43%, a 6-month return of 4.54%, and a year-to-date return of 9.31%.
