CJ Freshway "Online Food Ingredient Distribution Business Sales Grow 10 Times"
Offline Transaction-Centered Distribution Business Connects to Online Market... Focused on O2O Transition Achievements
CJ Freshway announced on the 13th that its cumulative online food ingredient distribution business sales for the third quarter of this year grew tenfold compared to the previous year.
This is the result of focusing on the O2O (Online to Offline) transition, connecting the existing B2B (business-to-business) food ingredient distribution business, which mainly deals with offline transactions, to the online market. CJ Freshway explained that collaboration with external platforms specializing in online and data businesses was particularly effective.
Recently, CJ Freshway has been concentrating on advancing its collaboration model with OKPOS, a POS (Point of Sale) solution company. OKPOS is the number one operator in Korea with over 260,000 franchise stores. Since signing a business agreement in 2022, the two companies have carried out various projects such as integrating food ingredient ordering systems and launching dining brands.
Since June, they have started selling products through the food ingredient ordering page within OKPOS's restaurant sales management service app 'Oneul Eolma' (How Much Today). Related sales increased by an average of 126% per month until last month, and the number of purchasing customers grew twentyfold during the same period.
The sales growth is analyzed to be driven by product competitiveness specialized for the B2B channel. CJ Freshway enhanced its competitiveness by developing online-exclusive products for items with high demand in the dining market and securing exclusive distribution brand products.
In addition, alongside the O2O transition of the food ingredient distribution business, CJ Freshway plans to secure dining solution (customer business consulting) capabilities that have been operated since last year. The goal is to design a unique customer experience by combining the know-how of the largest food ingredient distribution company in Korea with data insights from technology platforms.
