LG Electronics Enhances Chemical Accident Response Capabilities with VR
MOU to Enhance Chemical Accident Response Capabilities with the Ministry of Environment's Chemical Safety Agency
LG Electronics is partnering with the Ministry of Environment's Chemical Safety Agency to enhance chemical accident response capabilities in industrial sites.
On the 13th, LG Electronics announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a collaborative system for education and training to improve chemical accident response capabilities with the Chemical Safety Agency at LG Science Park in Magok, Seoul. The signing ceremony was attended by Park Bong-gyun, head of the Chemical Safety Agency, and Kwon Soon-il, head of LG Electronics' Safety and Environment Center, among others.
Through this MOU, LG Electronics will conduct experiential safety training using virtual reality (VR) safety education content that simulates various safety accident scenarios related to chemical substances. This experiential training will be added to the existing safety and health education courses provided to all employees.

LG Electronics employees will use VR devices to conduct simulated training of safety accident scenarios that may occur in industrial sites, such as laboratory accidents, allowing them to learn response methods through practical experience. LG Electronics also plans to gradually introduce safety education content on difficult-to-experience accident scenarios, such as toxic gas leaks and chemical substance-related terrorism sites, which are being developed by the Chemical Safety Agency.
