Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 11th that it held the "8th Nongcheong Cheerful Sports Day" on the 9th at Balgok Station Exercise Plaza, with over 80 participants including hearing and speech-impaired individuals and non-disabled people.

View original imageThe event, organized by the Uijeongbu Branch of the Korea Association of the Deaf, Gyeonggi Province Chapter (Branch Chief Jeong Seong-ryeol), was prepared to promote the rights and social participation of the deaf community in the area and to foster communication and harmony between disabled and non-disabled individuals.
The event was divided into three parts: Part 1, the commemorative ceremony; Part 2, a walking competition; and Part 3, the cheerful sports day. During the cheerful sports day, participants enjoyed activities such as hula hoop, bolo ball, ojami throwing, and treasure hunting, creating a time of unity between disabled and non-disabled participants.
