"Thorough Search and Rescue Efforts for Missing Persons"
Minister of the Interior and Safety Sang-min Lee and Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Do-hyung Kang visited the Jeju Maritime Police Agency, Jeju Hallim Port Accident Response Headquarters, and family waiting room regarding the fishing vessel sinking accident that occurred in the Jeju waters on the 8th.
According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the day, Ministers Lee and Kang received reports on the rescue and recovery situation and urged all related agencies including the Coast Guard, Navy, Fire Department, Police, and local governments to mobilize all available resources to fully focus on rescue and search efforts.
They also met with the families of the injured, deceased, and missing persons, explained in detail the government's efforts to fully concentrate on search and rescue activities, and promised to provide support to ensure there are no shortcomings in future search and rescue updates, accommodation, and other conveniences.
