Seosan City Implements Emergency Water Supply System Due to Boryeong Regional Water Pipeline Accident
Five 5-ton water trucks, forty-five 15-ton water trucks, and 65,000 bottles of bottled water supplied to eup, myeon, and dong administrative welfare centers
Seosan City in Chungnam has implemented an emergency water supply system as a citywide water outage is scheduled due to an accident in the Boryeong Regional Waterworks pipeline.
According to the city, at around 10 p.m. on the 7th, a valve in the air chamber at the Hongseong Pressurization Station of the Boryeong Regional Waterworks Seosan line was damaged, resulting in a water outage in the direct supply area of Gobuk-myeon and a planned outage across the entire Seosan City area.
The city, in cooperation with the Korea Water Resources Corporation Seosan Branch, has begun emergency water supply operations. Currently, five 5-ton water trucks and forty-five 15-ton water trucks are planned to be supplied to major public facilities such as the administrative welfare centers in each town and district.
Additionally, water tanks will be operated at multi-use facilities such as Seosan Bus Terminal and Dongbu Market, as well as public restrooms, to provide emergency water supply.
In particular, 65,000 bottles of drinking water have been distributed to 15 administrative welfare centers in towns and districts and will be provided as emergency drinking water.
Furthermore, the city has requested cooperation from the Office of Education for shortened classes and has provided information on the water outage via safety text messages on the 8th.
The restoration is expected to be completed around 3 p.m. on the same day.
The city plans to make every effort to operate the emergency water supply system to minimize inconvenience to citizens until the water outage situation is resolved.
