Gwangju Buk-gu Selects 5 'Active Administration Best Practices' for Second Half of This Year
Best Award for 'Living Stability Support Fund' for Vulnerable Groups
On the 6th, Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced that it has selected the ‘2024 Second Half Active Administration Best Practices’ that enhanced residents' convenience through creative ideas and proactive work initiatives.
The selection of best practices in active administration has been conducted twice a year since 2020 to discover and reward exemplary cases where public officials have demonstrated active administration based on their expertise to create public benefits, thereby spreading a culture of active administration within the organization.
The selected best practices this time were chosen from major policies promoted by Buk-gu from April to September, evaluating four criteria: ▲resident perception ▲creativity ▲difficulty ▲potential for dissemination, resulting in the selection of ‘five projects’ that achieved remarkable outcomes.
The ‘Grand Prize’ was awarded to the ‘Living Stability Support Fund,’ the first initiative in Gwangju launched ahead of Chuseok to alleviate the livelihood burdens of vulnerable groups and stimulate domestic demand for small business owners. The ‘Excellence Award’ went to the ‘Advanced District Natural Disaster Risk Improvement Project’ to resolve flood damage concerns around the Advanced Industrial Complex, as well as the case of ‘Securing 4.1 billion KRW in non-tax revenue through innovation in public fund management.’ Additionally, the ‘Encouragement Award’ was given to the ‘Opening and Operation of the Online Shopping Mall Bukso e-Mall’ implemented to pioneer sales channels for small business owners, and the ‘Youth Hope Street Creation’ project, which is promoting a K-Culture content specialized street.
The district plans to widely publicize the five best practices to spread the culture of active administration and ensure continuous implementation, and will provide various incentives to the responsible employees.
Moon In, Mayor of Buk-gu, emphasized, “The challenging and creative active administration by public officials leads to the improvement of residents' welfare and quality of life,” adding, “We will continue to strive to establish a culture of active administration within the organization and encourage employees’ active administration to carry out district governance that residents can feel.”
