Allegations of Violation of the Act on the Regulation of Solicitation of Donations
The police are conducting a search and seizure of the office of the progressive civic group Chotbul Seungri Jeonhwan Haengdong (Chotbul Haengdong), which is suspected of illegally collecting donations from its members.

View original imageThe Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Public Crime Investigation Unit announced that from 9 a.m. on the 5th, they are carrying out a search and seizure of the Chotbul Haengdong office in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on suspicion of violating the Act on the Collection and Use of Donations.
Earlier, the Jongno Police Station in Seoul received a complaint in 2022 alleging that Chotbul Haengdong was illegally collecting donations from its members and began an investigation. The case was later transferred to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency this year. In September, the police also conducted a search and seizure of the company managing Chotbul Haengdong's member management program.
