Yeongdeungpo-gu Hosts 'Job Mentoring Concert' with Seniors
On the 6th at 6 PM in Yeongdeungpo Art Hall, a "Job Mentoring Concert" to hear vivid employment strategies from current and former seniors... With 19 mentors from large corporations, multinational companies, and startups... Diverse fields including marketing, HR, engineering... Efforts to open the door wide for employment so youth can worry less and achieve their dreams
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that on November 6th, it will hold a ‘Job Mentoring Concert’ at Yeongdeungpo Art Hall to strengthen the employment capabilities and competitiveness of young job seekers by hearing employment know-how from current and former employees of companies.
The ‘Job Mentoring Concert’ is a program that allows young job seekers to communicate with current and former seniors from large corporations, global companies, and startups, enhancing their understanding of the job roles and competencies desired by each company.
So far, the ‘Job Mentoring Concert’ has received favorable reviews from young job seekers as it provides employment strategy information that was difficult to obtain through company announcements or online, and offers practical advice from seniors.
According to the 2023 “Second Half Corporate Recruitment Trend Survey” by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Employment Information Service, young people chose ‘mentoring and special employment lectures’ as the most helpful employment support service.
The ‘Job Mentoring Concert’ will be held on the 6th from 6 PM to 9 PM at the exhibition hall on the 2nd floor of Yeongdeungpo Art Hall. Nineteen mentors from leading large corporations and global companies such as LG Electronics, Hyundai Motor Company, and Amazon, as well as startups, will participate. These mentors are current and former seniors in various fields highly sought after by young people, including marketing, human resources, engineering, and sales.
The ‘Job Mentoring Concert’ will first conduct an in-depth lecture on analyzing successful resumes and self-introductions from large corporations, as well as company-specific employment strategies. Then, for pre-registered young participants, a realistic ‘public mock interview’ will be conducted to help them gain practical experience. Finally, young people will select two job mentors from their desired companies to freely gather, ask questions about their usual concerns, and seek advice during the ‘group mentoring’ session.
The district expects that through the ‘Job Mentoring Concert,’ young people preparing for employment will be able to accurately determine what career experiences are essential and how to prepare for them.
