Dongducheon City Awards Mayor's Commendation to Blood Donation Contributors
Park Hyung-deok, Mayor of Dongducheon (right), is taking a commemorative photo with Son Hyun-soo, who received a commendation for his significant contribution to spreading the blood donation culture and stabilizing blood supply, at the recent monthly meeting held in the city hall's main conference room.
Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 4th that during the monthly assembly held recently in the city hall's main conference room, a commendation for blood donation merit was awarded to Mr. Son Hyun-soo for his significant contribution to spreading the culture of blood donation and stabilizing the blood supply.
Mr. Son began donating blood in 1981 and has been regularly donating twice a month. As of 2024, he has donated blood more than 600 times, leading the way in sharing life for citizens in need of blood.
Since last year, Dongducheon City has been working to encourage more blood donation participation by providing a 10,000 won Onnara gift certificate to citizens who donate blood through an agreement with the Korean Red Cross.

A health center official said, "We sincerely thank the blood donation merit recipients who actively took the lead in spreading the culture of blood donation and stabilizing the blood supply," and added, "We will continue to strive to further expand the blood donation culture in the local community."
