Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will hold the ‘Seonyuro Pop-up Store’ from November 1 to 3 at the B1 floor event hall of The Hyundai Seoul.
This event was planned to promote the ‘Seonyuro Commercial Area’ around exits 2 and 6 of Seonyudo Station. The name of Yeongdeungpo-gu’s representative alley commercial area, ‘Seonyuro Commercial Area,’ was inspired by ‘Seonyudo (仙遊島),’ known as a place where immortals wandered, embodying a relaxed and leisurely atmosphere.
The pop-up store is themed ‘The Village of Immortals with Seoni, Uni, and Roi,’ the characters of the Seonyuro Commercial Area, offering participants a special immersive experience as if they become immortals enjoying a leisurely rest in the city.
In particular, the district plans to present a unique pop-up store in collaboration with The Hyundai Seoul, a local landmark. The Hyundai Seoul is adjacent to subway lines 5 and 9 and is a place with heavy foot traffic. Through this event, the district aims to widely promote the charm of the Seonyuro Commercial Area and encourage actual visits.
The Seonyuro Pop-up Store offers a variety of participatory programs that allow visitors to indirectly experience the Seonyuro Commercial Area beyond a simple event, providing a special experience.
The main programs include ▲Seonyuro Initial Consonant Game ▲Seonyuro Acrostic Poem ▲Immortal Fortune-telling (Tarot) ▲Fresh Self-introduction, totaling 10 programs, with added interest through a ‘Stamp Mission.’ Participants who collect all six stamps receive a ‘Certificate of Immortal,’ and are also given ‘Seonyu Pay,’ which can be used like cash within the commercial area. Among visitors who post reviews of the pop-up store on their personal SNS, five will be selected to receive additional Seonyu Pay.
Additionally, various events such as ▲Photo Zone ▲Hidden Immortal Hunt ▲Sibyeonnol (traditional Korean game) ▲Immortals’ Return Gifts are prepared. However, the ‘Sibyeonnol’ program, where participants can make Moru dolls and mobiles, operates by reservation only with four sessions per day and up to five people per time slot. On-site reservations are also available.
The district has arranged the venue considering visitor flow for safety, limiting the maximum allowed number of people to prevent congestion. In addition, banners, barriers, and guides are placed to prepare for any incidents or accidents.
