Gwangju City, 2024 Hygiene Training for Existing General Restaurant Operators
Gwangju City conducted hygiene education on the 30th at the City Hall Su-eojangdae Hall for about 200 existing restaurant owners to promote safe food and improve dining culture.
Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 31st that it conducted hygiene education for about 200 existing restaurant owners at the City Hall Su-eo Jangdae Hall on the 30th to ensure safe food and improve dining culture.
This education was conducted under the supervision of the Gwangju Branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association and is a legally mandated training that must be completed annually according to the Food Sanitation Act.
The training covered ▲ Food Sanitation Act and policy directions ▲ Prevention of food poisoning and hygiene management ▲ Labor management.
Restaurant owners who were unable to attend the in-person training must complete the refresher course by December 31 of this year through the Korea Foodservice Industry Association or the Korea Foodservice Industry Association's website. Failure to complete the hygiene education will result in a fine of 200,000 KRW.

A city official stated, “Through hygiene education for existing business owners, this will be an opportunity to improve the food hygiene management capabilities of business owners and raise the hygiene management standards of the dining industry in Gwangju City.”
