Yeonggwang-gun, Food Poisoning Prevention Education for Small-Scale Welfare Facilities
Next Year's Scheduled 'Meal Management Support Center' Meeting Also Planned
Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do recently announced on the 31st that it conducted special food poisoning prevention training for small-scale social welfare facilities at the Yeonggwang Indoor Swimming Pool multipurpose room.
This training was conducted for managers and food service workers working at small-scale meal service facilities (58 locations) with fewer than 50 people, including child welfare, disability welfare, and elderly care facilities.
Yeonggwang-gun recently conducted food poisoning prevention education for social welfare facilities at the Yeonggwang Indoor Swimming Pool multipurpose room.

The training covered understanding food poisoning and its occurrence status, seasonal causes and prevention methods, hygiene management of group meal service facilities, and on-site cross-contamination control in sequence.
There was also a meeting time for the Social Welfare Meal Management Support Center, which will be implemented by Yeonggwang-gun starting next year. From next year, the county will expand the meal management services of the existing Child Meal Management Support Center to small-scale social welfare facilities. In addition, periodic safety, hygiene, and nutrition visits to meal service sites and customized meal plans for specific diseases will be provided as management services.

A county official stated, “Small-scale social welfare facilities are vulnerable to hygiene blind spots, so it is necessary to have heightened awareness and special caution regarding food poisoning. Starting next year, through the expanded operation of the Child and Social Welfare Meal Management Support Centers, we will provide systematic meal management services to ensure that vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and people with disabilities can have healthy and balanced meals.”
