EU Foreign Chief "To Visit Korea Next Week to Discuss North Korea Troop Deployment"
Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, who is scheduled to visit Korea next week, announced on the 30th (local time) that he plans to discuss the deployment trends of North Korean troops to Russia and response measures during his visit to Korea next week.
On the same day, High Representative Borrell issued a statement saying, "The EU Intelligence Centre (INTCEN) has confirmed recent reports that North Korean forces are present on Russian territory," and criticized, "The presence of thousands of North Korean troops blatantly violates the UN Charter and Security Council (UNSC) resolutions."

Regarding his visits to Japan and Korea, High Representative Borrell said, "This is a timely and important opportunity to discuss these concerning developments." He added that he is discussing issues related to the deployment of North Korean troops, including response measures, with international partner countries.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, High Representative Borrell and Minister Cho Tae-yeol are scheduled to hold the 1st Korea-EU Strategic Dialogue in Seoul on the 4th of next month. Before visiting Korea, High Representative Borrell will visit Japan on the 1st of next month.
