Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, who is visiting Europe, is holding the opening ceremony with key attendees at the '2024 KOR-AUT Energy Week Opening Ceremony' held at the Austria Center Vienna on the 29th (local time).

Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, who is visiting Austria, led the entry of Jeonnam energy companies into the European market through Energy Week at the 28th World Korean Economic Forum, and presented a new economic cooperation model by performing a win-win performance at the joint pavilion with Gyeongbuk.
Jeollanam-do held the Korea-Austria (KOR-AUT) Energy Week at the World Korean Economic Forum held in Vienna, Austria from the 29th (local time) to the 31st.
This is the first time Energy Week has been held in Europe, and it is expected to serve as a stepping stone for Jeonnam energy companies to enter the European market. Until now, Energy Week has been held nine times mainly in Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian countries, with a total of 75 companies participating and export contracts worth 5.5 billion KRW concluded.
Six companies from the Jeonnam region participated: Green ENS Co., Ltd., Smart Company Co., Ltd., M-Tech Information Technology Co., Ltd., With Beer Co., Ltd., Connected Co., Ltd., and Comemtec Co., Ltd.
Jeollanam-do also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for export cooperation with Slovakian energy companies.
At the Energy Week event, Governor Kim Young-rok jointly signed the application for membership in the International Climate Change Network Global Covenant of Mayors (Under2 Coalition) with Champa Patel, Executive Director of The Climate Group, and agreed to actively cooperate in global climate change response.
Governor Kim said, "Jeonnam is leading South Korea's energy transition based on abundant natural resources. Taking this Energy Week as an opportunity, we will actively support the successful entry of competitive local companies into the European market."

Governor Kim also attended the opening ceremony of the Jeonnam-Gyeongbuk joint pavilion operated at the World Korean Economic Forum. The joint pavilion was evaluated as a turning point that demonstrated a model of win-win cooperation on the international stage and strengthened networks with overseas investors. Reflecting this, more than 100 key figures and company representatives attended, adding to the enthusiasm.
