Gumi City in Gyeongbuk will hold the finals of the "2024 3rd Gumi Pear National Park Golf Tournament" at Dongnak Park Golf Course from November 1 to 2.
Hosted by the Gumi City Sports Council and organized by the Gumi City Park Golf Association, this tournament is attracting attention from park golf enthusiasts nationwide.
The preliminary rounds were held from September 3 to October 3 at six venues?Dongnak, Yangpo, Gumi, Seonsan, Haepyeong, and Dogae?every Tuesday and Thursday. A total of 2,100 players from 16 cities and provinces across the country participated. About 630 finalists who passed the fierce preliminaries will compete for the championship at Dongnak Park Golf Course, the nation's first officially certified course.
The tournament is also drawing attention with its generous prize money. The MVP will receive a prize of 30 million KRW, while the 1st and 2nd place winners will be awarded 5 million KRW and 3 million KRW respectively, with prize money given up to the 10th place. Additionally, all participants will receive a 10,000 KRW Gumi Love Gift Certificate, which is expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
Through this tournament, Gumi City aims to invigorate the local commercial district by encouraging long-term stays of participating teams and to promote Gumi’s attractions to park golf players nationwide. It has also significantly contributed to the activation of "sports tourism" by attracting participants to various famous spots throughout Gumi.
