Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, who is visiting Austria, presented the future vision of Jeonnam as an industry that develops advanced industries and agriculture, fisheries, and marine products with global competitiveness.
Governor Kim stated this during a lecture at the opening ceremony of the 28th World Korean Business Convention held at the Austria Center Vienna on the 28th (local time).
Governor Kim mentioned that Jeonnam’s representative seafood products, gim (seaweed) and abalone, are gaining attention in the global market. He also emphasized that by focusing on nurturing future food industries such as space launch vehicles, offshore wind power, and smart agriculture, Jeonnam will play an important role in the international economy. Based on this, he set the goal for Jeonnam to leap forward as a global economic hub.

He also announced plans to further promote Jeonnam’s culture and history in the global market through Namdo K-Culture sales.
Governor Kim expressed his determination to widely promote the various charms of Namdo cuisine, wellness tourism, and K-Culture to the world through large international events such as the Jeonnam World Tourism and Culture Expo. By utilizing Jeonnam’s unique cultural content combined with K-Culture, the plan is to develop Jeonnam into a global cultural center.
Governor Kim said, “Jeonnam is now growing into a global center of economy and culture,” and pledged, “Together with Korean businesspeople around the world, we will open a greater future.”
