Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 29th that the talent donation plaques to be displayed at Nakyangwon and Myeongpungwon in the Korean Garden within Songsansaji Neighborhood Park were exhibited at the ‘20th Hoeryong Senior Exhibition’ held on the 25th.

Songsansaji Neighborhood Park was first established in 2014 and has been one of Uijeongbu’s representative parks visited by many citizens for over 10 years.

Plans are underway to transform Nakyangwon, which has a pond within the park, and Myeongpungwon pavilion next to the Zelkova tree, by naming them ‘Musimjeong (無心亭)’ and ‘Songsangak (松山閣)’ respectively, as themes of the Korean garden.

The calligraphy for the plaques was donated by Im Eung-seop, former head of the Uijeongbu branch of the Korea Fine Arts Association, and the wood carving for the inscriptions was donated by Lee Gwang-young for Songsangak (松山閣) and Kim Jin-ah for Musimjeong (無心亭).

The two plaques, Songsangak (松山閣) and Musimjeong (無心亭), were completed after more than three months of work and are scheduled to be installed at the pavilion in the Songsansaji Korean Garden around November.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “I deeply thank everyone who willingly participated in the talent donation for the Songsansaji Korean Garden plaques,” and added, “We will continue to maintain the garden with a unique theme exclusive to Uijeongbu City to provide a distinctive resting place and a leisure space accessible to people of all ages.”
