Toray Advanced Materials set its ESG strategic directions as greenhouse gas reduction and climate change response, practicing human rights-respecting management, building a sustainable supply chain, and securing transparent governance. It pursued three major business tasks: "eco-friendly products," "eco-friendly technologies," and "recycling."
Since last year, the company has been practicing a circular economy by collecting waste release films from customers and using yarn made through hydro-depolymerization recycling technology to produce customers' workwear, and it has continuously developed eco-friendly products and technologies, obtaining certifications from global evaluation agencies. Additionally, it established a Sustainability Committee to secure an ESG-focused management system.
The report was prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), an international sustainability reporting standard, and the disclosure standards of the U.S. Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and underwent third-party verification to ensure accuracy and reliability. Illustrations drawn by employees’ children depicting ESG themes were used to add meaning.
