Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends 2024 Specialized High School Job Competency Festival
On the afternoon of the 28th, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, announced that he attended the 2024 Specialized High School Job Competency Festival.
The Job Competency Festival was planned to help students find jobs that match their interests and aptitudes through job consulting and various experiential programs, and to strengthen their employment capabilities.
The event was divided into two parts. In the first part held at the Sangsang Irum Center, corporate experts from various fields such as Samsung Electronics, CJ, and YG Entertainment participated to provide job consulting in nine different fields.
Students received help to enhance the competencies required for practical work, design their job selection and employment preparation process, and were also given advice on understanding corporate culture and adapting to organizations in each field.
Additionally, booths for art psychological counseling and personal color experience were operated.
In the second part held at Nowon Children's Theater, Geum Doo-hwan, CEO of Barun Employment Research Institute and author of "I Don't Know About Dreams, But I Want to Get a Job," gave a special lecture introducing job preparation and Nowon District's employment support programs to motivate job seekers.

Following this, a performance sharing session was held for 11 club teams from 8 schools participating in Nowon District's employment and start-up club support project, where students presented their efforts and shared experiences. The talk concert featured YouTuber "Yeoriyeori" and Jeon Cha-eun, Deputy Manager of the Operations Support Team at the Small Enterprise and Market Service, who is a graduate of a specialized high school, sharing vivid field experiences and offering practical advice and encouragement to the students.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, said, "Since specialized high school students are developing expertise in specific fields, career planning and job experience are very important," adding, "We will spare no systematic support for the dreams of students who proactively prepare for their future."
