Namyangju-si Hopyeong-dong Hanmaeum Sports Festival Opens as a Venue for Community Harmony and Health Celebration
Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City, is delivering a greeting at the '10th Hopyeong-dong Unity Sports Festival' held on the 26th at the Hopyeong Middle School playground.
The Hopyeong-dong Sports Association (President Jang Seok-ho) in Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 28th that it successfully held the "10th Hopyeong-dong Unity Sports Festival" on the 26th at the Hopyeong Middle School sports field, with 1,500 Hopyeong residents participating.
The sports festival was graced by the presence of special guests including Namyangju Mayor Joo Gwang-deok, provincial and city council members, as well as social organizations such as the Hopyeong-dong Residents' Autonomous Committee and the Neighborhood Leaders' Council, along with many residents.
The event proceeded in the order of a pre-ceremony performance, opening ceremony, fun sports games, congratulatory performances, and a raffle draw. Various experience booths, including calligraphy and traditional games, were set up, creating a festive atmosphere that everyone from children to the elderly could enjoy.
President Jang Seok-ho of the Sports Association expressed, "We thank everyone who attended and supported the sports festival," and added, "The Hopyeong-dong Sports Association will continue to strive to be a central force in communication and unity among the residents."
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok stated, "The health and happiness of the residents must come first for the growth and development of Namyangju-si," and said, "I hope this sports festival becomes a source of vitality in the daily lives of the residents."
