Professor Choi Sung-eun of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Awarded the Polish President's 'Cross of Merit Officer's Order'
Hankuk University of Foreign Studies announced on the 26th that Professor Choi Sung-eun of the Department of Polish Language received the Cross Officer's Order of Merit from Polish President Andrzej Duda during his state visit.

This is the second time Professor Choi has been awarded such an honor, following the Cross Knight's Order of Merit he received from the Polish government in 2012. Since 2007, Professor Choi has served as the head of the Department of Polish Language at HUFS, the only department of its kind in Korea, nurturing experts in the Polish language. Additionally, as a translator of Polish literature, he has translated over 40 representative books spanning from classical to contemporary Polish literature.
In his award speech, President Andrzej Duda stated, "The medal is awarded to honor the achievements of widely promoting the Polish language and Polish literature in Korea, as well as dedicating efforts to Polish language education and the cultivation of future scholars."

Professor Choi said, "Having studied, taught, researched, and translated Polish literature passionately for over 30 years, I know well that making what I love my profession is a happy thing. With a grateful heart, I will continue to work harder to nurture my students and devote myself to research and translation."
