Wibian Hospital Introduces Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Device... "Alleviating Side Effects of Radiation Therapy"
"Effective Use in Various Diseases and Conditions"
Wibiang Hospital (Director Lee Hong-chan) announced on the 24th that it has introduced the latest hyperbaric oxygen therapy device (IBEX Light) from IBEX Corporation.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a treatment in which nearly 100% high-concentration oxygen is inhaled inside a hyperbaric oxygen chamber pressurized to more than 2 atmospheres. It is effectively used for various diseases and conditions such as ▲burn treatment ▲carbon monoxide poisoning ▲toxic gas removal ▲sudden hearing loss ▲altitude sickness ▲decompression sickness (diving sickness) ▲brain function improvement ▲wound healing ▲tissue necrosis ▲ulcers. It is especially known to be effective for side effects occurring after radiation therapy in cancer patients.
Radiation therapy works by irradiating cancer cells with radiation to destroy their DNA structure, causing cell death. During this process, normal cells around the area are also damaged, leading to various side effects such as swelling, ulcers, tissue damage, and various inflammations.
