Installed in 2000 on Nonhyeon-ro (Yangjae-dong 289-5) from Eonnam Middle School toward Gugak High School, this overpass has aged about 24 years and posed safety concerns. Without an elevator, it was difficult for transportation-vulnerable groups such as the disabled and elderly to use, and as the boundary of school districts between Seocho and Gangnam-gu changed, the usage rate of the overpass by students also decreased.
Due to continuous complaints from residents requesting the demolition of the overpass and installation of a crosswalk, the district office, after ongoing consultations and reviews with related organizations such as the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and Seoul City, as well as nearby elementary schools, finally decided to demolish the overpass and install a crosswalk. The demolition work will be carried out overnight from 10 PM on the 25th to 6 AM on the 26th, and full road closure is scheduled from 2 to 3 PM on the 26th.
