Daejin University Department of Smart Convergence Security Wins Excellence Paper Award
At the '2024 Hanguk Smart Media Hakhoe & Hanguk Jeonja Georae Hakhoe Autumn Academic Conference'
Kim Seong-hyun and Lim Hee-young, second-year undergraduate students in the Department of Smart Convergence Security at Daejin University, received the Excellent Paper Award at the 2024 Korea Smart Media Society & Korea Electronic Commerce Society Fall Conference.
Kim Seonghyun and Lim Heeyoung, second-year undergraduate students in the Department of Smart Convergence Security at Daejin University, announced on the 23rd that they received the Excellent Paper Award at the "2024 Korea Smart Media Society & Korea Electronic Commerce Society Fall Conference," jointly hosted by the Korea Smart Media Society (President Professor Ryu Sicheon) and the Korea Electronic Commerce Society (President Professor Jang Hangbae), and organized by the Hanyang University LINC 3.0 Project Group (Director Kim Hakseong).
This academic conference, themed "Smart Media Literacy and Social Humans: Communication, Coexistence, Innovation," gathered researchers nationwide who presented a total of 180 papers, facilitating active academic exchange.
The awarded paper, titled "Current Status of Technology Leakage in the Defense Industry and Analysis of Security Countermeasure Research Trends (Kim Seonghyun, Lim Heeyoung, supervised by Professor Kim Jawon)," proposed practical research directions for the defense industry, which has recently become a target of technology leakage. The presented paper received the Excellent Paper Award. This award holds significant meaning for both the students and their supervising professor.

Professor Kim Jawon's laboratory (MoTS_DJ, Management of Technology and Security DaeJin) achieved this first success by selecting undergraduate researchers and conducting projects under the University ICT Research Center program (Data Privacy Research Center) supported by the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP).
