Paju-si, Interim Report on Design Service for 'Family Art Camping Peace Village'
Paju City held an interim report meeting on the "Family Art Camping Peace Village Development Project Basic and Detailed Design Service" on the 15th at the city hall video conference room.
Gyeonggi Paju City (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 22nd that it held a mid-term report meeting on the "Family Art Camping Peace Village Development Project Basic and Detailed Design Service" on the 15th at the city hall video conference room.
The "Family Art Camping Peace Village Development Project" is a project to create a camping site combining peace, art, and culture in the Unification Hill Tourism Special Zone to establish infrastructure for an extended stay tourist destination.
The mid-term report meeting was attended by Kim Jin-gi, Deputy Mayor of Paju City, heads of related departments, members of the Unification Hill Tourism Special Zone Promotion Council, and relevant experts. The performing agency, Kyungho Engineering Comprehensive Architecture Office Co., Ltd., presented the mid-term report and conducted a Q&A session.
The mid-term report included an overview of the basic and detailed design service, setting the project direction reflecting opinions presented at the commencement report in May, analysis of development conditions such as camping trends through domestic case studies, establishment of the basic plan, and future promotion schedules.
On the day, opinions were presented including ▲simplification of vehicle movement routes considering prevention of internal camping site safety accidents ▲design of routes enabling smooth entry and exit of general vehicles and camping cars ▲plans for future marketing and promotional events ▲and measures to strengthen connectivity with major tourist attractions within Unification Hill.
Although Paju City attracted more than 5 million tourists last year, visits were limited to day trips due to a lack of extended stay tourism infrastructure. Accordingly, the city is promoting the project with the intention of establishing infrastructure for an extended stay tourist destination rather than a pass-through tourist spot.
Deputy Mayor Kim Jin-gi said, "We will steadily promote the Art Camping Peace Village Development Project to equip camping facilities and develop tourism content linked with adjacent tourist resources, making it a space where visitors want to return and stay, thereby advancing Paju as an extended stay tourism city."
