The 'National Happiness Civil Service Office' is a certification system that comprehensively evaluates 25 items across four categories?internal and external spaces of civil service offices, services, experiences, and satisfaction?targeting local governments, education offices, and special local administrative agencies nationwide. The certification period is three years.
Dongdaemun-gu was first certified as a 'National Happiness Civil Service Office' in 2018, and successfully received re-certification this year following 2021. This year, it received high evaluations and was also selected as a recipient of the Prime Minister's Commendation.
The district has focused on improving the environment for civil petitioners by creating a smart one-stop window at the comprehensive civil service office, installing information desks and floor guide lines, and expanding convenience items for vulnerable groups of petitioners.
Additionally, it has consistently worked to create a safe civil service office environment by producing video manuals for handling special civil petitions and purchasing additional portable protective equipment to safeguard civil service window staff.
Through this re-certification, Dongdaemun-gu will maintain its status as an excellent institution until 2027.
