Ulsan City Hosts Food Culture Festival 'Ulsan Gourmet Grand Feast'
‘Delicious Ulsan! Connecting Ulsan's Pride with Eat’
On the 25th-26th of this month, Taehwagang National Garden Nam-gu Riverside
Ulsan City, together with the Ulsan branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association, the Nutritionists Association, the Rice Cake Association, the Confectionery Association, and other food hygiene organizations, will hold the ‘2024 Gourmet (美食) Grand Feast’ food culture festival on the 25th and 26th at the Nam-gu riverside of Taehwagang National Garden.
Under the theme “Delicious Ulsan! Connecting Ulsan’s Pride through Eat,” this event is organized to revitalize the local dining industry and promote the consumption of regional specialties.
The opening ceremony will take place on the 25th at 5 p.m. at the Nam-gu riverside of Taehwagang National Garden, featuring a delicious magic show and a performance of making Ulsan whale dumplings.
On the first day, there will be spoon percussion, a musical performance of The Chef, and Ulsan food recreation activities.
On the second day, the 26th, events include a natural cooking fermentation talk show, a mild trot music performance, world traditional folk performances, and a gathering of Ulsan foodservice families.
Additionally, various events suitable for families, couples, and friends to enjoy together will be prepared alongside representative taste experiences of Ulsan.
During the event, six taste booth spaces representing each district and county will operate from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering free tasting of Ulsan’s signature foods such as Korean beef yukgaejang, steamed sea snails, grilled bulgogi, yukjeon sushi, and Jeongja snow crab.
There will also be nine experience booths including nutrition, rice cake, and confectionery exhibition and experience halls to provide information on nutritious food and safe hygiene.
Moreover, carbon reduction experiences such as making cotton candy using a bicycle generator, lunchbox cake and cookie making, children’s rice cake making, and rice cake pounding experiences will be available for children and citizens, along with counseling on healthy and proper eating habits.
