On this day, a vehicle delivery ceremony was held in front of the City Hall entrance, attended by Mayor Lee Wan-seop of Seosan and Kang Kyung-hwan, Director of the Seosan City Transportation Support Center for the Mobility-Impaired, among others.
Through this delivery, the Transportation Support Center for the Mobility-Impaired will replace one of its existing special transportation vehicles and add three more, expanding its fleet from 11 to 14 vehicles.
The special transportation vehicles are yellow, specially equipped vans with wheelchair ramps, providing mobility convenience for people with severe walking disabilities, temporary mobility aid users, seniors over 65 who have difficulty using public transportation, and pregnant women.
Those wishing to use the service can register as users at the Seosan City Transportation Support Center for the Mobility-Impaired and request vehicle dispatch from the Chungnam Metropolitan Mobility Support Center to receive the service.
Mayor Lee Wan-seop stated, "With the increase to a total of 14 special transportation vehicles, we expect to further enhance the mobility convenience for transportation-vulnerable citizens," adding, "We will continue to do our utmost to strengthen the safe and convenient mobility rights of the transportation-impaired."
Meanwhile, since July 1, the city has been operating five Haenuri (voucher) taxis for the transportation-impaired, making every effort to improve mobility convenience for these citizens.
