Wonju City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Won Kang-su) announced on the 16th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Halla University and HL Mando at the investment consultation room on the 7th floor of City Hall to conduct a demonstration of autonomous patrol robots along the Wonjucheon Stream.

The signing ceremony was held with the attendance of Won Kang-su, Mayor of Wonju City, Kim Eung-kwon, President of Halla University, and Choi Sung-ho, Vice President of HL Mando.
Through this agreement, the parties agreed to actively cooperate in ▲demonstration operation of autonomous patrol robots along Wonjucheon Stream ▲sharing, utilizing, researching, developing information to support the demonstration ▲and fostering specialized personnel.

Mayor Won Kang-su of Wonju City stated, “The autonomous patrol robots along Wonjucheon Stream will serve as a foundation for the city administration’s goal of creating a safe Wonju at all times,” and added, “We will actively support the development of regional new growth industries such as AI autonomous driving robot industry through administrative measures.”

Meanwhile, the autonomous patrol robots will operate for the next two years along a 3 km section of Wonjucheon Stream (from Chiakgyo Bridge to Taebonggyo Bridge).
HL Mando developed and manufactured the robots, and the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Halla University will be responsible for the demonstration operation.
