Cat Abused with Metal Rod... Animal Protection Group Files Complaint
Reported to Police on Charges Including Animal Abuse
In Cheonan, Chungnam, CCTV footage showing a man abusing a stray cat has been released, sparking public outrage.
According to local animal protection organizations in Cheonan on the 16th, at a cat feeding station set up in a parking lot in Seobuk-gu, Cheonan, a man was caught on building CCTV between midnight and 3 a.m. on the 4th, beating a cat with a metal rod until it lost consciousness and then stealing it.
The footage also captured the abused cat attempting to flee, unable to walk properly due to a broken leg.
Animal protection groups suspect that this man may have habitually abused stray cats, as there have been recent reports of nearby stray cats with severed tails and burn marks.
The animal protection organization has reported the man to the police on charges including animal abuse and theft.
