Autonomous districts such as Yeongdeungpo-gu, Gwanak-gu, and Nowon-gu in Seoul are hosting youth festivals this autumn, the season of abundant harvests, to help teenagers realize their dreams about science and the future.
Especially this year, the festivals will provide future visions through scientific experiences such as AI and VR, and also offer performance stages where teenagers can freely showcase their talents.

On the 19th at 1 PM, Youth Career Concert and Representative Education Festival at Yeongdeungpo Park
Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) will hold Yeongdeungpo’s representative ‘Education Festival’ on the 19th at 1 PM in Yeongdeungpo Park, where attendees can experience future scientific technology content and career paths related to the 4th Industrial Revolution.
This ‘Education Festival,’ which brings together science, careers, youth, and books, serves as both a career concert for teenagers and a representative education festival.
As the district has announced plans to establish a ‘Special Science Education Zone’ to lead the advanced era of artificial intelligence, including ChatGPT, robots, and autonomous driving, this year’s festival features various future science and technology experiences. The goal is to elevate teenagers’ potential and provide a stepping stone for them to grow into future leaders.
In particular, based on the slogan ‘CHAT Popo: Connecting the Future,’ the festival has greatly expanded ‘participation booths’ where visitors can experience future scientific technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), robots, and drones. This is designed not only for the main participants, students, but also for children and families to experience and explore future science and technology.
The venue is divided into science exhibition and experience, career, books, and youth zones. In the science exhibition and experience area, about 70 booths operate activities such as mini robot rides and robot soccer. The career zone offers career exploration using virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI). The book zone features activities like book camping and creating personalized book perfumes that add scent to books. The youth zone showcases games and exhibitions planned and participated in directly by students.
Additionally, unique events are prepared for participants. After purchasing experience tickets at the information booth and collecting certification stickers from each booth, visitors can receive various prizes such as AI photo shoot tickets and ice cream made by robots. The festival also provides various rest and convenience facilities such as shade tents and chairs to ensure visitors can fully enjoy the event.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “Through this education festival, I hope future dreamers will encounter cutting-edge scientific technology and creative thinking, and find a foundation to decide their future careers. Yeongdeungpo-gu will be a guide and strong supporter for teenagers to grow into scientific talents who will lead future science and technology.”
Gwanak-gu Hosts Youth Festival
October 25-26 at Nakseongdae Park ▲Robot Performances ▲National Youth Club Competition ▲Dance Crew Performances ▲Experience Booths ▲Various Events and More
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is hosting the Gwanak Youth Festival ‘3rd Cheongajeul: Stage Up and Jump with Titan.’
Now in its third year, ‘Cheongajeul’ is an abbreviation for ‘a festival where youth enjoy without any worries,’ and will be held on October 25 and 26 at Nakseongdae Park.
The district plans to enrich the festival content by linking this year’s Cheongajeul with the ‘2024 Seoul Convergence Science-Math-Maker Festival’ organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’s Convergence Science Education Center.
On the 25th, the festival will open with the ‘Seoul Convergence Science-Math-Maker Festival’ opening ceremony, followed by a science magic concert and media art performances.
On the 26th, the main Gwanak Youth Festival will take place. The district planned this year’s Cheongajeul under the theme ‘Stage Up and Jump with Titan!’ together with the youth festival planning group ‘Cheongtist.’
The pre-event performance will start with a robot Titan show, followed by passionate final performances from 10 youth clubs (5 bands, 5 dance teams) who passed fierce preliminaries.
Especially, the dance crew ‘Proudman,’ which is very popular among teenagers, will close the festival with a spectacular stage.
In addition, the district has prepared various festival programs such as ▲over 113 experience booths ▲Cheongajeul playground ▲photo booths ▲mini game zones ▲trash treasure pick-up (Jupging) to support teenagers’ dreams and talents.
Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, said, “I hope teenagers will freely express their hidden dreams and talents through Cheongajeul and help form a healthy youth culture. We will continue to support the realization of the dreams of teenagers, who are the future of our society.”
Nowon-gu Hosts the 2nd Nowon Youth Festival ‘Cheongmiso’
On the 25th at Hyesung Girls’ High School’s playground and gymnasium, ‘Cheong’ Youth Startup Market & ‘M’ Future Science Experience & ‘So’ Wishes-filled Youth Performances All in One Place
Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) will hold the joint youth festival ‘Cheongmiso’ on the 25th for local teenagers.
Now in its second year, ‘Cheongmiso’ integrates three previously separate events for youth: the Youth Artist Market, Future Science Festival, and Youth Festival - Wishes. After the successful first event, preparations have been ongoing since March through continuous meetings with related organizations to expand the scale and enrich the quality of the programs.
The venue, Hyesung Girls’ High School (2 Nowon-ro 16-gil, Nowon-gu), will transform into a timeless amusement park on the day of the event. The festival is mainly composed of ▲Youth Startup Market - Youth Artist Market ▲Future Science Zone ▲Youth Festival - Wishes.
First, the Youth Startup Market, called the ‘Youth Artist Market,’ serves as an activity space for youth startup clubs, where teenagers operate booths based on their own ideas and creativity. Youth create and sell goods, crafts, and beads reflecting their peers’ needs, and prepare face painting and makeup experience spaces. Along with simple snack bars offering Korean snacks and desserts, there will be demonstrations of board games developed by youth, attracting many peers.
Next, the ‘Future Science Zone’ offers a rich program that stimulates scientific curiosity and imagination by allowing direct experience with cutting-edge future science technologies. About 70 experience booths will feature drones, robots, autonomous driving, virtual and augmented reality (VR, AR). Additionally, there will be rare drone swarm flights, robot group dances on stage, and an AI photo studio experience.
Finally, the Youth Festival ‘Wishes’ centers on performances where teenagers showcase their talents and create a lively festival atmosphere. Ten youth clubs selected through preliminary screening will perform in various genres including bands, hip-hop, vocals, and dance, passionately demonstrating their skills. Popular singer and YouTuber ‘Ryu Min-hee’ and highly sought-after singer ‘Gyeongseo,’ known as the top choice for various music festivals, will perform congratulatory shows to support teenagers’ dreams.
