Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is accelerating efforts to enhance students' communication-centered English proficiency.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is operating the ‘Visiting Busan Speaking English 1.1.1. Festival’ event for 23 schools, including 16 elementary schools and 7 middle schools, until the 30th.
This event aims to create a boom in English speaking through the solid operation of ‘Busan Speaking English 1.1.1.’ and thereby improve students' English communication skills.
The Busan Office of Education selected 23 outstanding schools for the ‘Busan Speaking English 1.1.1.’ activities through evaluations based on participation frequency in 1-minute speaking segments and class activity outcomes, and is conducting the event targeting these schools.
The office visits these schools to hold events such as English speaking activity-linked recreation with native English assistant teachers, food court operations, and attaching English notes at photo zones.
Superintendent Ha Yun-su plans to visit Geumbit Elementary School on the 16th and Sinjeong Middle School on the 17th to present commemorative plaques to the selected outstanding schools and accompany the events.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education expects this festival to greatly help increase satisfaction with public English education and reduce private education expenses.

‘Busan Speaking English 1.1.1.’ is a program consisting of systematic output activities that complete 1-minute speaking through repetitive processes of daily English listening and speaking one sentence per day, after accumulating sufficient input through listening and reading.
The program is composed of five processes: ▲ daily listening ▲ speaking one sentence per day ▲ 1-minute speaking ▲ system establishment for English education support ▲ performance management.
