Busan Urban Corporation Appoints Lee Suwon as New Auditor... Former Chief of Staff to National Assembly Speaker
Private Companies Conduct Audit Operations, Expecting Integrity Management Through Expertise and Communication
On October 15, the city of Busan appointed Lee Suwon, former Chief Secretary to the Speaker of the National Assembly, as the new Standing Auditor of Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC).
The new auditor, Lee Suwon, graduated from elementary, middle, and high school in Busan, and completed a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a master's degree in Media and Communication at Seoul National University. He is an expert who has served as Auditor at DS Danseok, Chief Secretary to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, Spokesperson for Gyeonggi Provincial Government, and at the Korea Broadcasting Development Institute.
The BMC Executive Recommendation Committee recommended Lee Suwon to the city of Busan on October 8, judging that his diverse experience, expertise in audit work, and communication skills with various stakeholders would contribute to organizational innovation and ethical management at BMC as Standing Auditor.

BMC operates an Executive Recommendation Committee composed of external members to ensure a transparent appointment process for executive directors. Along with the appointment of the new Standing Auditor, BMC plans to appoint a new President in November and a new Head of Planning and Management Headquarters in December.
