Yongin City Prepares Landscape Plan Reflecting Semiconductor Industrial Complex and Water Source Protection Zone Deregulation
Establishment of the '2035 Yongin City Landscape Plan'
Adjusting Zones and Expanding Priority Management Areas
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 13th that it has completed the establishment of the 'Yongin City Landscape Plan 2035' for the reorganization of the urban landscape plan.
The newly confirmed landscape plan reflects plans such as the development of large-scale advanced industrial complexes including the 'Yongin Advanced System Semiconductor National Industrial Complex' and the promotion of lifting the Songtan Water Source Protection Zone, based on the previously established 'Yongin City Landscape Plan 2030' in 2018.
The new landscape plan sets the future landscape vision as 'Yongin, a future advanced city where nature, people, and culture harmonize,' and was established under three themes: preservation, management, and formation, the city explained.
In the new plan, considering the resources and characteristics of each area, management will be divided into four landscape zones: urban center landscape zone, cultural tourism landscape zone, administrative center landscape zone, and clean/future landscape zone. Additionally, to improve the waterfront landscape management around the Gyeongan Stream area and the landscape of new entry points leading to tourist attractions such as Everland, the city expanded the key landscape management zones to areas including around Kimryangjang-dong in Cheoin-gu and the Pogok IC area.
Along with this, the 'Yongin City Color Landscape Guidelines' were revised, setting desirable color usage ranges through color experts and landscape reviews for eight fields including apartment complexes and commercial buildings.
The plan expanded the landscape guidelines into six fields by element?road, street, outdoor advertising, open space, urban infrastructure, etc.?to provide standards that enable the realization of a desirable future landscape vision during the installation of various projects and facilities within the region. The city added that a distinctive feature of the landscape plan is the use of example images to help project implementers and civil petitioners understand.
Mayor Lee Sang-il said, "With rapid changes in the urban environment due to large-scale industrial complex projects and the promotion of lifting the Songtan Water Source Protection Zone, it is necessary to reorganize the landscape plan accordingly. Through this landscape plan, we will strive to create an urban environment that harmonizes and balances with nature rather than indiscriminate development."
