Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 11th that it has been selected as a 'K-Wellness City,' pursuing well-being, health, and happiness to enhance the quality of life.
The K-Wellness City certification is a project certified by the Korea Wellness Industry Association, recognizing representative cities in Korea that are suitable for improving quality of life through a balance of body, mind, and spirit. It has been implemented since 2019. The selection is made through a comprehensive evaluation of local governments nationwide based on ▲the mayor's commitment to fostering wellness ▲wellness infrastructure (hardware and software) ▲plans for infrastructure development ▲and the participation of local residents.
For the next three years (until October 9, 2027), the city will be promoted as a representative wellness city of the Gyeonggi region and will be given priority promotion as a 'K-Wellness City' at domestic and international exhibitions and academic conferences (conferences) such as the 'K-Wellness Food & Tourism Fair' and 'K-Wellness Day,' hosted by the Korea Wellness Industry Association.
