Starting Tomorrow, COVID-19 Vaccinations Begin... "Simultaneous Vaccination with Flu Vaccine for Those Aged 65 and Over"
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency announced on the 10th that the 2024-2025 season COVID-19 vaccination will begin on the 11th.
This COVID-19 vaccination campaign is being conducted until April 30 next year with the purpose of preventing severe illness and death among high-risk groups such as seniors aged 65 and older, immunocompromised individuals aged 6 months and older, and residents and inpatients of infection-vulnerable facilities.
Vaccinations will start sequentially by age group: those aged 75 and older on the 11th, those aged 70-74 on the 15th, and those aged 65-69 on the 18th. Immunocompromised individuals aged 6 months and older and residents and inpatients of infection-vulnerable facilities can receive vaccinations starting from the 11th regardless of age.
Among these, seniors aged 65 and older can receive COVID-19 and influenza (flu) vaccines simultaneously.
This vaccination campaign utilizes the new JN.1 vaccines from Pfizer, Moderna, and Novavax, which are effective against the recently circulating COVID-19 variants. Medical institutions that offer simultaneous COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations can be found on the Vaccination Helper website.
