Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do Opens Support Center for Families with Disabilities
Mayor Bang Se-hwan, Gyeonggi Gwangju City Council Chairman Heo Kyung-haeng, provincial and city council members, as well as local people with disabilities and their families, are attending the opening of the Gwangju City Disabled Family Support Center.
Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 9th that it opened a Support Center for Families of Persons with Disabilities in the region on the 8th.
At the opening ceremony, more than 80 people including Mayor Bang Se-hwan, City Council Chairman Heo Kyung-haeng, provincial and city council members, as well as persons with disabilities and their families in the area, attended to celebrate the opening of the Gwangju City Support Center for Families of Persons with Disabilities.
Going forward, the city plans to offer various programs reflecting the needs of families of persons with disabilities through the Gwangju City Support Center for Families of Persons with Disabilities, based on family counseling projects, family function enhancement projects, and community organization projects, to foster healthy family relationships and strengthen family functions.
Mayor Bang Se-hwan stated, “I hope the Gwangju City Support Center for Families of Persons with Disabilities will play a pivotal role as a welfare provider supporting persons with disabilities and their families within the local community.”

Kim Jeong-ok, Director of the Gwangju City Support Center for Families of Persons with Disabilities, said, “We will do our best to alleviate the social and psychological difficulties faced by families of persons with disabilities and to improve their quality of life.”
