Opened last July, the Gangnam Robot Plus Test Field spans 5,950㎡ and consists of two buildings: the Collaborative Intelligence Demonstration Development Support Center and the Meister Robotization Support Center, equipped with over 80 robots of about 30 different types and various equipment.
Research is underway here on Meister robots that learn the skills of skilled workers in manufacturing industries such as metal processing and automobile parts, as well as collaborative robots that combine artificial intelligence with industrial robots. The establishment of a domestic safety certification system for collaborative robots is also being pursued.
This tour program was prepared through cooperation between Gangnam-gu and the Korea Electronics Technology Institute to allow residents, students, and robot industry stakeholders to directly learn and experience how industrial robots are actually used in the field in South Korea.
The first program starts on the 14th and will be held twice a day on the second Monday of every month. Each session lasts 50 minutes and can accommodate up to 20 participants. In addition to demonstrations of industrial robots, participants can also experience service robots such as quadruped walking robots and delivery robots.
Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Individuals can apply by filling out a form on Google Forms, and group applications can be made by contacting the Innovation Strategy Division of the district office.
